FUEGO VOLCANO HIKE

FUEGO HIKE (EXTRA Q200): In addition to the Acatenango hike, we are offering an add-on hike that compliments the original hike. After you reach the Acatenango basecamp, we go to the Fuego Volcano summit for sunset in order to be as close as 150m to the exploding crater, with its beautiful and unique view*.

The hike is harder as it adds 4-5 hours of round trip hike. You are required to be at the basecamp by 3 pm for departure.
This addition to the tour costs an extra Q200. Why?
1• Because we change the route completely to another volcano.
2• Is the fee that our guides charge us to take you there, it's an extra tour and extra service they provide to the company.

No rush on deciding if you want to hike to Fuego when you book, you can decide if you are going when you reach our basecamp, and if you go to Fuego Volcano you will have to pay the Q200 the next day when you come back to our agency in Antigua. Our minimum to make the tour run is 4 people.

RULES TO HIKE FUEGO

The guides will decide who is able to perform this extra hike, please follow our guides instructions.
Sign the liability form.
The guides will decide if we are able to perform the hike at the current weather conditions.
Depending on the weather conditions, sometimes the guides will give the option to perform Fuego in the morning instead of the Acatenango summit (sunrise hike). Acatenago summit hike is included in the price. Fuego hike will be charged either you hike in the morning or the day before.
You can NOT perform this hike without a guide. Please don't insist.

Once you start there is no going back. The hike will be charged whether you complete it or not.
Bring an extra 500+ calorie snack. We don’t provide it.
The hike will be charged uniformly regardless of the visibility.
The pace of the hike is decided depending on each group. Some hikers are fast, others are slower. It will be different with every group, but there will always be a guide around you. We don’t lose anyone!
If you suffer from asthma or any heart condition we don’t recommend performing this hike.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

REFUND OR CHANGE OF DATE

Only if requested 24hrs prior your tour stars (6:30am), after this time we do not grant refunds or date change.

Fuego Hike Price is the same when done and there is no view or bad weather.

Business Hours: 8am to 4pm.

GENERAL CANCELLATION:

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled hike to receive a full refund.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled hike are non-refundable.

WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATION:

In the event of adverse weather conditions that necessitate the cancellation of the tour while on the hike: Participants will need to walk back with the group to ensure safety, carrying their own backpacks.

No refunds will be issued in such cases due to the unpredictability of weather conditions and for the safety of all participants.
